Common name - Japanese Rhino Beetle
Scientific name - Trypoxylus (Allomyrina) dichotomus tsunobosonis

The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of the iconic Japanese Rhinoeros Beetle, which is the largest rhino beetle species in Japan.

This is a different, rarely-kept subspecies of the normally available Japanese Rhino Beetle. The regular Japanese Rhino Beetle subspecies is T. d. septentrionalis from Japan, whereas this subspecies is T. d. tsunobosonis from Taiwan. This Taiwanese subspecies grows bigger in comparison and also produces red-bodied adults more often.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Taiwan, Asia.

This species is ideal for beginners as it is a very fast growing species and are very tolerant of adverse conditions/mistakes.

The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood and leaf litter.
