Common name - Orangutan Longarm Beetle
Scientific name - Propomacrus davidi

The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of a rarely available group of beetles called the longarm beetles. This group is a separate family from the rest of the usually available beetle families such as flower beetle/rhino beetle/stag beetles.

The males of the longarm beetle family are well known for their unusually long arms which they use to shovel and flip rival males. This particular species is orange in colour and very fuzzy, resembling orangutans

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Fujian in China.

The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood and leaf litter.
