The listing is for 1x animal, of a RARE species of isopod (rolypoly/pillbug/woodlice) that is famous for its flat, wide, shield-like body shape.

This is a special bloodline originating from a population at a certain location in Sardinia. Individuals from this distinct population are beautifully skirted, much like the highly sought-after Trachelipus trilobatus. Specimens from this locality exhibit contrasting patterns and some individuals can occasionally turn out with portions of fiery-orange.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Sardinia. When a group is purchased, the isopods sent will be an assorted mixture of ages and sizes, to ensure a good start to a breeding colony.

Like other giant Porcellio species, this species prefers a less moist environment compared to other isopods, with plenty of airflow as well.

The isopods feed on a variety of forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additional supplements such as calcium (limestone/cuttlefish bone) and fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
