The listing is for 1x animal, of a gigantic species of isopod (rolypoly/pillbug/woodlice) that holds the record for being one of the largest isopod species available in the hobby, rivalled by Porcellio hoffmannseggii and Porcellio magnificus. Older males can get particularly huge with their elongated uropods and very long antennae (+50mm total length).
This is a special line called "Tortosa", which is a new line of orange morph P. expansus recently introduced to the hobby and established in the UK by me. Individuals from this distinct population from the city of Tortosa tends to grow slightly larger than the currently existing P. expansus "Orange" in the hobby.
These are CAPTIVE BRED, with this stock originating from Tortosa, Spain. When a group is purchased, the isopods sent will be an assorted mixture of ages and sizes, to ensure a good start to a breeding colony.
Like other giant Porcellio species, this species prefers a less moist environment compared to other isopods, with plenty of airflow as well.
The isopods feed on a variety of forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additional supplements such as calcium (limestone/cuttlefish bone) and fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
