The listing is for 1x animal, of a gigantic species of isopod (rolypoly/pillbug/woodlice) that holds the record for being one of the largest isopod species available in the hobby, rivalled by Porcellio hoffmannseggii and Porcellio magnificus. Older males can get particularly huge with their elongated uropods and very long antennae (+50mm total length).
This is a special line called "Orange", which originates from a population found to the West of the regular white P. expansus in the wild. Individuals from this distinct Western population have orange highlights on the skirts of their bodies, and tend to grow larger than the regular white population.
These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Spain. When a group is purchased, the isopods sent will be an assorted mixture of ages and sizes, to ensure a good start to a breeding colony.
Like other giant Porcellio species, this species prefers a less moist environment compared to other isopods, with plenty of airflow as well.
The isopods feed on a variety of forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additional supplements such as calcium (limestone/cuttlefish bone) and fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
