Common name - Rainbow Stag Beetle "Black Pearl"
Scientific name - Phalacrognathus muelleri "Black Pearl"

The listing is for 1x adult beetle, of a highly sought after species of Stag Beetle that is famous for their metallic, rainbow colouration as adults. This is a RARE, special bloodline originally from Japan that was first bred in the UK by me in 2022, and I can finally offer surplus offspring in small quantities. As this bloodline is still new, surplus stock from my captive breeding programme will be available infrequently.

This is an incredibly special bloodline by Japanese pro-breeders that combines highly desired characteristics from three separate pedigrees - firstly for "white eye", secondly for "mirror glaze" (aka. Pikal - mirror-like thorax), and thirdly for a special variation of "amethyst" that incorporates blue, pink, red and green in addition to the purple.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Queensland in Australia.

The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
