Common name - Japanese Roly-Poly Roach
Scientific name - Perisphaerus pygmaea
The listing is for 1x animal, of a rare species of cockroach that is well-known for its special ability to roll up into a ball, just like an isopod (roll-poly, woodlouse).
This species prefers arboreal set-ups, so enclosures that are taller-than-wide should be provided with climbing material such as branches, pieces of rotting wood and cork bark. Good ventilation is a must for this species.
These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Japan, Asia.
The nymphs and adults feed mainly on fruits. Additional supplements such as bee pollen and fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
