Common name - Helmet Flower Beetle
Scientific name - Peperonota harringtoni
The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of a RARE species of Shining Leaf Chafer (Rutelinae) that is being offered for sale for the first time ever in the UK. The males of this species are very unusual and are infamous for possessing a long, protruding horn on the back of their thorax.
These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
