⨂ ADULTS - "Pure Blue" Giant Flower Beetle, (Mecynorrhina ugandensis)

Scientific name - Mecynorrhina torquata ugandensis "Pure Blue"

The listing is for 1x, adult beetle, of a rare PURE BLUE bloodline of a giant species of Flower Beetle from Africa.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Uganda.

Normal adults of this species are green and orange but this is a bloodline that has been selectively bred over multiple generations to isolate the blue colour.

Further on from the regular blue striped bloodline, this bloodline has been selectively bred on top, for adults that lack the white stripes completely, making them completely blue.

The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood and leaf litter.
