Common name - Comet Flower Beetle
Scientific name - Mecynorrhina kraatzi

The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of a RARE species of horned flower beetle. This species is infamous for their gigantic, lance-like horns that are tipped in red. Their black bodies are also lined with contrasting streaks of yellow, resembling comet tails shining in the night sky.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Cameroon.

This species is closely related to Mecynorrhina ugandensis - the second largest Flower Beetle species in the world after Goliath Beetles.

The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood and leaf litter.
