Common name - Jewel Stag Beetle
Scientific name - Lamprima insularis
The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of a RARE, metallic species of stag beetle native to Lord Howe Island. This is a species that is very easy to breed with a fast development time. Adult males can range between apple green to turquise blue, whereas the females can range from green to orange to purple.
These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Lord Howe Island.
The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
