Common name - Jewel Stag Beetle
Scientific name - Lamprima adolphianae
The listing is for bulk quantities of beetle larvae, of a very beautiful, metallic species that can take on a variety of colours as adults, ranging from gold to blue to red to green.
These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from West Papua.
Like many members of the rhino/stag beetle families, the males of this species possess large horns/mandibles used in wrestling matches with rival males, while females lack these structures. The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
