Common name - Giant Prickly Stick Insect/ Macleay's Spectre
Scientific name - Extatosoma tiaratum

This listing is for 5 EGGS, of a beginner-friendly species of stick insect. This is a very popular species due to their large size and cryptic body that helps them to blend in with the vegetation in the wild. When feeling threatened, females will curl their abdomen up to mimic the pose of a scorpion. These are however completely harmless and easy to handle.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Australia. The food plants for this species are bramble, raspberry, oak, beech, etc.

The standard morph for this species is the dead-leaf mimicking brown morph, but depending on the conditions the nymphs are kept in, they can also adopt a variety of different morphs such as a black & white lichen morph (quite rare) or a green morph.
