The listing is for 1x animal, of a beginner-friendly species of isopod (rolypoly/pillbug/woodlice) that is popular among hobbyists due to its distinctive features such as a red face and butt, along with white highlights on their sides.
This is a pedigree called "Red", which has been selectively bred for their colour mutation. This makes them look orange/reddish with peachy highlights. The famous Cubaris sp. "Cherry Blossom" was also isolated from this pedigree!
Cubaris sp. "Pak Chong" is the perfect choice as a starting species for keepers that want to get into keeping more advanced Cubaris species later on, such as Rubber Duckies and Lemon Blues.
These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Pak Chong, Thailand. When a group is purchased, the isopods sent will be an assorted mixture of ages and sizes, to ensure a good start to a breeding colony.
The isopods feed on a variety of forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additional supplements such as calcium (limestone/cuttlefish bone) and fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
