The listing is for 1x animal, of a beginner-friendly species of isopod (rolypoly/pillbug/woodlice) that is popular for their resemblance to pandas due to their black and white colouring. They are also one of the best beginner isopod species that are tolerant of a wider variety of conditions.
This is a pedigree called "Pink", which has been selectively bred for its colour mutation. This pedigree arises from my culture of Red Panda Kings that exhibit a mutation of tyrosinase-positive albinism, where the animals can still produce pigmentation but at a lighter shade. This makes them look pinkish-orange with peachy highlights, along with red eyes. These tyrosinase-positive albino animals will appear light pink when young, but their colours will slowly darken towards orange as they age.
Cubaris sp. "Pink Panda King" is the perfect choice as a starting species for keepers that want to get into keeping more advanced Cubaris species later on, such as Rubber Duckies and Lemon Blues.
These are CAPTIVE BRED, with this stock originating from Vietnam. When a group is purchased, the isopods sent will be an assorted mixture of ages and sizes, to ensure a good start to a breeding colony.
The isopods feed on a variety of forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additional supplements such as calcium (limestone/cuttlefish bone) and fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
