As of 2024, I can finally offer surplus offspring in small quantities. As I am still building the numbers up in my culture, surplus stock from my captive breeding programme will be available infrequently.
The listing is for 1x animal, of a RARE highly sought-after species of isopod (rolypoly/pillbug/woodlice) that is well-known for being one of the largest species of isopods available in the hobby. This species also possesses a special ability to create hissing sounds when disturbed as a defence mechanism, which is made by rubbing their legs against the insides of their exoskeleton.
These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from South East Asia. When a group is purchased, the isopods sent will be an assorted mixture of ages and sizes, to ensure a good start to a breeding colony.
The isopods feed on a variety of forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additional supplements such as calcium (limestone/cuttlefish bone) and fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
