Common name - Rainbow Millipede
Scientific name - Atopochetus dollfusii
The listing is for 1x animal, of a highly sought-after species of millipede that is famous for its contrasting blue and red colouration. Juveniles start off pale, but their blue and red colouration strengthens as they grow up.
As the captive breeding of this species is very difficult, stock will be available very infrequently. Previously, this species was distributed in the hobby as Tonkinbolus dollfusii until the scientific name was updated.
These are from a CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with the stocks originating from Vietnam, Asia.
The juveniles and adults feed mainly on decaying wood and leaf litter. Additional supplements such as calcium (limestone/cuttlefish bone), fruits & veg, moss, and protein such as fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
