Common name - Fuzzy Rhino Beetle
Scientific name - Allomyrina pfeifferi
The listing is for 1x adult beetle, of a beginner-friendly species of rhinoceros beetle. This species is closely related to the famous Japanese Rhino Beetle, but is more petite, cute, and covered in fuzzy golden hairs.
These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Malysia. Asia.
This species is ideal for beginners as it is a very fast growing species and are very tolerant of adverse conditions/mistakes.
Like many members of the rhino/stag beetle families, the males of this species possess large horns/mandibles used in wrestling matches with rival males, while females lack these structures. The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
