Common name - Giant Flower Beetle "Flame Wings x Violet"
Scientific name - Mecynorrhina torquata ugandensis "Flame Wings x Violet"

The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of a popularly kept species of giant flower beetle from Africa. This species is infamous for the wide variety of colours they can come in, ranging from green, orange, blue to purple.

These are the offspring of a cross between two selectively bred pedigrees of this species. The father is of a bloodline bred for their blue and violet colouration, whereas the mother is of a RARE bloodline bred for their pure blue/black colour that is accompanied with red/pink highlights on their wings (named Flame Wings).

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Uganda, Africa.

There is no guarantee on how these offspring will end up looking as adults, but there should hopefully be some very interesting new morphs popping up based on the parentage!

The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood and leaf litter.
