Common name - Giant Hooded Katydid
Scientific name - Siliquofera grandis

This listing is for 1x animal, of gigantic species of katydid (bush cricket) with a wingspan of 25cm, that was recently introduced to the hobby.

This species is one of the largest katydid species in the world and nymphs and adults have an interesting feature where they possess thoracic shields/hoods that extend over their abdomen. This species is incredibly fast growing and can reach adulthood in as little as 3 months when reared at warmer temperatures.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Papua New Guinea, Asia. The food plants for this species are bramble, raspberry, oak, beech, etc.
