Common name - Elephant Rhino Beetle
Scientific name - Megasoma typhon

The listing is for 1x, larva and these are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from the state of Bahia in Brazil. This is a species of 4-horned rhino beetle that’s covered tiny golden hairs all over.

Megasoma are one of the largest genus of rhino beetles and the larvae hold the world record for being the heaviest insects in the world, with some having been recorded up to 230g which is almost equivalent to 10 hamsters.

The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood and leaf litter.
